Bio

Tom Hugo (Hermansen) is an award-winning songwriter, music producer, artist and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience across creativity, rights management and the international music business. His work as a songwriter and producer has generated hundreds of millions of streams and multiple platinum records, with releases and collaborations spanning Europe and Asia. He is also a founding member of Norwegian-Sámi pop group KEiiNO, whose “Spirit in the Sky” won the public vote at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019.

Tom Hugo has extensive experience across the music value chain — from songwriting and production to publishing, marketing and company building. Today, Tom Hugo serves as Chair of TONO, Norway’s collective management organisation for composers, songwriters and music publishers. His perspective on artificial intelligence is therefore shaped by both sides of the rapidly evolving debate: as a working music creator exploring how new technologies can enhance creative processes, and as a rights advocate addressing questions of authorship, transparency, consent, licensing and remuneration.
