Bio
Italian composer, sound engineer, and ocean advocate Coco Francavilla has spent over two decades shaping the intersection of music and culture from her base in Ibiza. Founder of Wider Sounds, one of the island’s leading studios and residencies, her cinematic and evocative approach can be heard in trailers and scores such as Blade Runner 2049 and the award-winning film S for Stanley (on Stanley Kubrick). A former collaborator of Tricky (Massive Attack) — who once described her as “the female version of me” — she has performed at Sónar, MUTEK, and Glastonbury, while working across the electronic scene with artists from Adam Beyer to Afterlife.
Through her NGO MusicForTheSea.org, and its UNESCO-endorsed project Posidonia Soundscapes, Francavilla connects sound and ocean protection. As an advocate and speaker she has appeared at TEDx, IMS, MUTEK, the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, and the Science Summit at the 80th UN General Assembly, bringing the role of music into the global climate and biodiversity debate.
