Producer/vocalist Grove contorts dancehall, bass and hip-hop into a brand new beast, driven by sensual liberation and political defiance. Inspired by the DIY nature and ethos of punk, the catharsis of dance music & the power of Jamaican soundsystem culture, Grove feeds you food for thought at the dance and enough energy to turn thought into action.
Since 2021 Grove has released a series of EPs, including ‘Queer + Black’; an exploration of identity, both personal and political. Most recently, the double punch of 'P*W*R // PL*Y’ explores power-based relationships through radical and playful lenses. 'BIG BOOTS' is a timely riposte to the monarchy, imperialism, systemic racism and a flame to the bunting choking the streets of the UK, while 'MILF MAGNET' celebrates the simple pleasures of appreciating beautiful older women.
Through the last 2 years of tearing up festivals worldwide and supporting the likes of Bob Vylan, Peaches, BABii & Moonchild Sanelly, their sound has been publicly championed by Mary Anne Hobbs, Steve Lamacq, Jamz Supernova and Jack Saunders.
