Linecheck Academy 2024 Unveils Star-Studded Lineup of Industry Experts
Milan, 3 October, 2024 – As autumn settles over Milan, the city prepares to host the 10th edition of Linecheck Music Meeting & Festival. This year’s event, set for November 18-23, 2024, promises to be a hub of ideas, talent, and innovation in the music industry.
At the core of this year’s festival is the expanded Linecheck Academy, a three-day intensive program from November 18-20. This intensive experience brings together a diverse group of industry experts, each contributing their distinct perspectives on the music industry, from event management to artist development and music technology. The lineup includes Cori Chinnici from BMAT adds a tech perspective, drawing on her experience as a Keychange mentor and Indie Pride board member. Ninja Tune’s Sean Preston brings production insights from his work with artists like Bonobo and Bicep, while Kevin Breuner of Bandlab Technologies offers a blend of artist and tech expertise, informed by his career with Smalltown Poets. The roster also features Jen Malone, founder of Black and White Music, an all-female music supervision agency. Malone’s work on popular series like “Euphoria” and “Wednesday” adds a fresh perspective on music in visual media. Lucia Ronchetti, artistic director of Biennale Musica (Venice), rounds out the lineup with her approach to composition and festival curation. Lorenzo De Pascalis, Founder and Artistic Director of Ombra, a creative studio specialising in visual, content, and show design, as well as AR, who also have been Martin Garrix’s shows VJ, or Erica Mattaliano, Project Manager in ME NEXT Agency, booking and management agency, who shaped today’s most successful Italian top-tier talents such as like Rose Villain, Lazza and Anna to name a few.
This year, we want to rethink the idea of a music industry event that’s more than just talks and handshakes. It’s a place where learning meets festival vibes, where ideas flow and the music pumps. And yes, there might be a glass of prosecco in your hand – after all, this is Milan!
The 2024 edition doubles down on this commitment, introducing a dedicated networking space designed to facilitate connections and collaborations among attendees. Each session at Linecheck Academy is crafted with the intention of bridging theory and practice, offering a challenging yet international perspective from a carefully curated list of experts.
As you delve into these courses, you might find yourself wondering: How will AI impact the way we curate live events? What new strategies can we employ to make our music stand out in an increasingly crowded digital landscape? These are just a taste of the thought-provoking questions that await.
At its core, hands-on practical sessions and networking opportunities will be the main focus of the first three days, featuring the return of the ticketed event Linecheck Academy. Academy attendees will also enjoy complimentary access to two additional days of insightful conferences and evening showcases. “Our 2024 Academy represents a unique opportunity for music professionals and students to learn from some of the most innovative minds in the industry. We’re particularly excited about the caliber of our experts, who bring fresh, real-world insights from their recent groundbreaking projects.” States Anna Zó (Linecheck co-director)
“I find the Linkecheck mission absolutely crucial for today’s music industry’s landscape: it is important to provide first-hand training opportunities for aspiring music industry professionals, who currently lack the access to even the most basic information to gather more knowledge. I hope my involvement will provide those entering the industry with a more comprehensive, realistic, and informed perspective on the world of my profession as a music supervisor, including both opportunities and limitations – Lastly, exchanging views with an expert like Jen Malone will shed light on the similarities and differences between the Italian and international landscapes.” – Silvia Siano (Music Supervisor, Cross Productions)
