Detlef Schwarte (born 1969) is a dioplom sociologist and co-founder of the Reeperbahn Festival, Germany's largest club festival and most important industry event for the music industry. As director, Schwarte was responsible for the international conference of the Reeperbahn Festival from 2009 to 2021 and developed the programme into the largest music industry conference in Europe during this time. Schwarte is co-initiator of the European Foundation of Music Conferences and the International Music Journalism Award.
In addition, as partner and managing director of the Hamburg event agency Inferno Events GmbH & Co. KG, Schwarte develops client and public events such as the Night of Knowledge, Hamburg Theatre Night and the Citizens' Festival on the Day of German Unity 2008.
