David McGinnis is the Managing Director of Mute Song, the music publishing companion of the enduring Mute record label.
McGinnis joined Mute Song as Head of Licensing in 1999. Over time his role expanded to encompass A&R, writer relations and business affairs. McGinnis was appointed Managing Director of Mute Song in 2014.
Mute Song publishes music by Jóhann Jóhannsson, Max Richter, Underworld, Public Service Broadcasting, Swans, Tempers, Liars, Bob Geldof and many other distinguished composers and recording artists.
Prior to joining Mute Song, David McGinnis held licensing positions with PPL and MCPS where he gained an intimate understanding of the legal and technical foundations of commerce in the music industry.
David was born and raised in Canada and has lived in London for over thirty years.
