Performing Abroad: Artist Tax, Social Security and Vat | Workshop
2:00pm - 3:00pm
Successful artists will be performing abroad and with their rising fame, also their fees will be going up. But then they will start experiencing foreign artist tax on their fees, bothering about their social security status and having to determine whether to charge VAT. This happens not only in Europe, but also when going to the USA and other countries around the world.
Artist tax can go up to 30% of the performance fee and, if not arranged correctly, become a huge cost, while for social security perhaps A1 declarations need to be obtained to avoid double payments and for VAT the reverse charge system might be applied.
This workshop will give practical information about these worthy topics, not only about the rules abroad, but also about dealing with these matters back home in tax returns to eliminate double taxation. The audience can raise questions on which answers will be provided.
