Antonina Nowacka is a vocalist, sound artist and composer with a background in visual arts. Through years of sonic explorations in natural environments, studies of various music traditions and voice peculiarities, she has developed an unique, deeply relaxing and hypnotic voice quality reminiscent of a theremin. By creating subtle and minimalistic soundscapes she takes listeners on an emotional, imaginative journeys inspired by nature, space, dreams and otherworldly happenings. Antonina is a distinct voice in the field of new adventurous music, collaborating frequently with Unsound Productions and acclaimed international and polish artists from the music and art scene such as Sofie Birch (Languoria, Hiraeth), Nicolas Jaar (Weavings), Agnieszka Polska (Plan Tysiącletni).
At Linecheck she will perform along with Renato Grieco and Riccardo La Foresta. Together, they create music that feels unearthed rather than composed, their sound is fragile but deep, hovering between ceremony and improvisation, like a field recording from a dream.
Drawing from non-verbal phonetics and vocal archaeology, Nowacka’s voice emerge like whispers in between her delicate zither lines.Renato Grieco’s viola da gamba bends baroque lineage into the language of lowercase improvisation, while Riccardo La Foresta’s drumming draws counterpoint from silence and gravity with each gesture.Neither ambient nor jazz, neither early music nor folk, and yet touching all of these worlds, the trio offers an invitation into an intimate, deeper, and beyond the threshold of words listening experience.
