Simone Matteuzzi
Simone Matteuzzi, is a singer-songwriter and musician from the foggy province of Milan, born in 2001. He writes and creates his songs while daydreaming in a world of chords, scents, syllables, and impressions; oscillating between great acuteness and sensitivity, and a restless, bustling sense of humor.
Ever since childhood, he has nurtured a great passion for black music – an influence which he further explored during his high school years, when he discovered and studied jazz, classical, singer-songwriting, and various experimental genres.
He performs in numerous venues in Milan and its surrounding areas, with jazz and singer-songwriter projects. In 2022, he won the “Research and Contamination” Award from the Pino Daniele Trust Onlus, thanks to which he later participated as an artist and keyboardist in the event "Qualcosa Arriverà," an audiovisual performance at the Galleria Umberto I in Naples. In 2022, he began collaborating as an artist and producer with Zebra Sound, a music production and publishing company in Milan, with whom he produced his debut project. With his single "Ipersensibile," he was among the eight winners of the 2023 edition of Musicultura – the Festival of Songwriting and Popular Music in the Italian language. He was also a finalist in Jazz the Future, a competition organized by JazzMI and Volvo Studio Milano. In 2023, he began collaborating with Costello’s Records.
On April 19, he released his debut album "Invito per colazione" with Zebra Sound, distributed by Virgin Music Italy. The highly participated live presentation of the album took place at Mosso Milano on April 21, in a show that left the audience in awe.
His following performance took place at the MI AMI Festival on May 26, 2024, prior to his first promotional tour. Meanwhile, the prestigious magazine Rumore featured him in Futura, the section dedicated to new international talents, as well as reviewing and comparing him to Lucio Dalla.
A great start.
